Vogue Creates Interior for Luxury Residence in Tiburon

Vogue Interiors announced that award-winning interior designer Leslie Gebert, Allied Member, ASID, has completed the interior design of a luxury residence built by Artisan Associates in Marsala at Tiburon that features an architectural design by Stofft Cooney Architects. Gebert’s elegant design brings a sense of timelessness to the home’s 4,306 square feet under air two-story floor plan. The plan includes formal living and dining rooms, an expansive double-island kitchen and family room, a study, four bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths including a pool bath, a multi-purpose upstairs loft, a large covered lanai with a summer kitchen, bar, and fireplace, and a three-car garage that has been finished as a mechanic’s work space where the owner is free to pursue his passion for antique car restoration.

Gebert’s design incorporates various new and existing furniture pieces and the owner’s antique Oriental rug and Lladro porcelain figurine collections against a soft color palette that includes beiges, golds, and reds. Porcelain tile flooring is featured throughout the living areas while the study presents a dark-toned wood floor. A central staircase showcases painted risers contrasted by walnut-finished treads.

The grandness of the residence is evident upon entry to a soaring two-story foyer that is finished in a creamy white. A lightly distressed decorative chest with gold metallic accents is set in a niche painted a soft khaki color and bedecked with an attractive art piece. A circular Oriental rug from the owner’s collection provides an additional note of welcome.

The foyer leads to a spacious living room with a fireplace and a see-through view of the pool and Marsala’s hallmark natural setting. A pair of columns is used to distinguish the boundaries of the living room and an adjacent formal dining room. Nine ceiling coffers set in a 3 x 3 pattern are finished with crown molding and painted to match the khaki tone in the foyer niche. A large silver and gold chandelier contributes to the elegance of the space. A ten-by-thirteen-foot red, cream, and gold Oriental rug provides the basis for the living room’s color scheme. Built-in glass library-style display shelves showcasing the owner’s Lladro porcelain figurines are set in arched niches that flank a gas fireplace with a traditional stone mantle and a decorative mirror. The top-lighted shelving is presented against a metallic gold cork wallpaper. Furnishings include a slubby beige sofa with curved arms, a French chair and ottoman in a gold chenille fabric, a large swivel chair in a neutral chenille fabric that is placed next to a baby-grand piano, and a circular cocktail table with a wooden base accented by a gold band and a glass top. A mirrored console table is placed behind the sofa. Walnut end tables on either side of the sofa showcase gold specialty lamps with hand-painted silver and gold paper shades. Three sets of double French doors leading to the outside are framed by a tailored metallic gold pleated linen window treatment with red gussets.

A smaller version of the living room’s silver and gold chandelier combines with country-French furnishings and a red Oriental rug to create an elegant and very large formal dining space. Gebert brought additional elegance and visual appeal to the space by designing a hexagonal flat ceiling treatment finished to match the metallic gold cork wallpaper in the living room’s niches. Drapery fabrics that match those used in the living room are presented with a swag treatment.

The home’s massive double-island kitchen features cream-toned raised panel island bases and perimeter cabinetry with creamy Colonial Gold counter surfaces and a cream-toned rectangular subway tile backsplash. Black leather barstools are set at the counter-height outer island and offer a gathering place while entertaining. An adjacent breakfast nook includes a distressed country French circular table and seating for four.

The kitchen’s color scheme is continued in the family room where Gebert has chosen to incorporate various black elements to provide contrast. A twelve-foot ceiling contributes to the room’s spacious feeling. The feature wall showcases a cream-toned console, large television, and an attractive art piece. Linen draperies framing a pair of double French doors include a black linen leading edge and red and black eyelash fringe that creates character. A cream-toned linen sofa, red leather recliner, matching side chairs with beige and black tweed on the outside and beige chenille on the inside, and a square cocktail table are set against a red, black, and cream area rug. The family room opens to a covered lanai where there is a conversation area with a sofa, side chairs, and a card table as well as a dining area adjacent to the summer kitchen. The pool’s soft blue tile picks up the tones of the upholstery on the outdoor space’s furnishings.

The study’s dark hardwood flooring plays against a beamed ceiling detail with a coffer finished in the same color as the ceiling and creamy Navaho white backgrounds with white trim. A tall, narrow French display piece finished in black is set against a long wall and includes a television. On the opposite wall, a cream colored velvet sofa with salmon-red piping complements an area rug with similar cream and salmon-red tones. Off-white embroidered linen draperies include red fret work. A narrow desk and chair set in front of the windows provides a place for computer use.

The walls of the master suite’s substantial vestibule are accented with captivating art pieces. A dark gold cut-loop pattern rug plays against the bedroom’s dark beige wall and ceiling tone. Gebert has created an interesting applied molding detail to complement a tufted velvet, straight-lined upholstered headboard. The detail includes vertical pieces that extend from the floor to just below ceiling height, a chair rail dropped slightly from ceiling height, and two horizontal rows of molding that run all the way around the room. Distressed wood night stands featuring antique mirrored drawers with a fret work overlay are placed adjacent to the vertical applied moldings. The custom bedding is presented in cream and gold tones and includes a large decorative pillow that extends the width of the king-sized bed. Draperies divided into beige horizontal sections top and bottom and a gold horizontal section in the middle play against a large distressed wood dresser flanked by soft beige, gold and aqua blue art pieces. Matching upholstered skirted chairs with a beige tone-on-tone fabric provide seating at a window overlooking the outdoor living area that can be accessed by a French door.

The master bath’s soft cream and gold Travertine flooring is also used on the tub deck and complements the room’s muted ivory backgrounds that include nicely sized metallic gold medallions. His and her vanities include granite counter surfaces. The shower’s floor and walls are also finished in the soft, creamy Travertine with a matching four-inch by four-inch Listello and a stone rope molding detail that provides texture.
