Vogue Creates Interior for Luxury Residence in Palmira

Vogue Interiors announced that award-winning interior designer Leslie Gebert, Allied Member, ASID, has completed the interior design of a luxury residence built by Harbourside Custom Homes in Palmira that features an architectural design by Weber Design Group. Gebert’s transitional design brings drama and glitter to the home’s 2,762 square feet under air great room floor plan. The plan includes a formal dining room, an expansive kitchen with a spacious island bar, a study, three bedrooms, three full baths and a pool bath that also serves as a powder room, an entertainment room with a bar, a large covered lanai with a summer kitchen, and a three-car garage.

Gebert’s sophisticated design allows for an exceedingly comfortable, welcoming home, yet she has incorporated drama and shimmer throughout for a show-stopping result. Her color palette is neutral with creams evolving into browns and blacks with touches of silver and gold metallic for glamorous accents. The flooring in the main living areas is a darker porcelain tile with lots of movement in golds, browns and blacks.

The foyer bids welcome with a simple, contemporary ‘rug’ inset in the porcelain floor using a black absolute granite tile with black and white striped borders. Overhead a magnificent, oversized chandelier adds eye-catching sparkle.

Immediately to the left of the foyer, Gebert has created an entertainment room defined by columns and soffit detailing. The space is open to the foyer and living room. Here, a beautiful black baby grand piano creates an immediate statement and is accompanied by elegant bar cabinetry in dark wood with bold hardware and a black marble top set against a wallpapered mica backdrop. A bistro-height table in an espresso tone with four chairs is anchored by a beautiful area rug in camels and golds. Overhead, the octagonal coffered ceiling features a faux finish enhanced by an elegant fan in black and gold. Charming artwork and a striking circular mirror decorate the walls, while the window is dressed with full tied-back drapes in a linen fabric with metallic gold detailing.

Past the foyer, a golf-themed study is entered through double French doors with glass mullions. The coffered ceiling features beige painted beams in a checkerboard pattern with crown molding in all the coffered areas. A grass cloth in creams and light browns covers the walls. A dark gray-brown wooden desk with a distressed finish floats in the center of the space and is paired with a leather executive chair. Behind the desk, matching file cabinets flank a window adorned with a handsome linen drapery treatment. A comfortable armchair sits in one corner, while golfing photographs in brown and sienna tones enhance the scene.

The generous great room has a 14-foot ceiling with checkerboard beige painted beams that create nine coffers detailed with crown molding. The coffers have been elegantly faux finished in a gold and silver metallic to match the entertainment room. Gebert has created two custom columns, adorned with mica wallpaper, to define the ends of the entertainment wall and to showcase magnificent wall sconces. In the center, the focus is created by a handsome console finished in walnut with 8-inch circular silver pulls that look like jewelry. A large screen television is wall-mounted above. The room’s seating arrangement includes a sofa in an off-white chenille fabric with decorative pillows and two tall chairs that display off-white sides and metallic camel and brown giraffe velvet fronts with a dressy sheen. In addition, a contemporary dark leather recliner adds a rich, enticing quality. The round cocktail table is finished in a champagne metallic tone with a glass top and the grouping is anchored by a cream colored shag area rug. The tailored stationary draperies that elegantly frame the pocketing sliders feature inverted pleats in ivory and dark mocha brown. Gebert continues this treatment into the adjacent dining area for a polished look.

The gorgeous dining table features a circular 60-inch glass top table through which the creamy mother of pearl finish to the wood and metal base is visible. This is paired with elegantly upholstered chairs and affords a wonderful vista through the wide angled, mitred window overlooking the outdoor living area.

The kitchen is open to the great room and dining area and features an outer counter-height island with a double sink and extensive bar. Four swivel barstools in a mocha brown tweed allow for comfortable interaction with the dining and great room spaces. The perimeter cabinetry features a traditional raised panel front with a brown glaze and oversized hardware. The cabinetry on the smaller prep island is executed in a dark espresso and blends with the outer island paneling. The countertops showcase an exotic granite in swirling creams, dark browns and blacks. Gebert has selected a specialty backsplash of 12 x 12-inch embossed silver metallic resin squares with a brown washed glaze for a truly exotic look. The interior of a glass-fronted cabinet by the pantry has been faux-finished in silver and gold metallic to highlight the sparkling stemware displayed within.

The master bedroom is entered via a private vestibule where a decorative wall niche features metallic silver wallpaper with a grass cloth overlay that is replicated in the bedroom ceiling coffer. The furniture includes a luxurious bed upholstered and tufted in a neutral velvet, together with nightstands and dresser featuring black cabinets and pearlized white drawers with gold hardware. A tall contemporary wing chair and custom ottoman add comfort and practicality, while the gold chandelier and decorative antiqued mirrors add a touch of extravagant flair. The sumptuous custom bedding with pillows in blacks, creams, whites and silvers, pairs beautifully with the simple drapery treatments featuring bands of color in similar shades.

The master bathroom sparkles with crystals both in the dramatic wall sconces mounted on the vanity mirrors and the bronzed leather chandelier over the tub. The cabinetry is executed in glazed cream with black quartz countertops while the flooring is a 20 x 20-inch light cream porcelain tile. The frameless shower is adorned with a 24-inch horizontal listello in black and brown glass tiles. Tying it all together, a soft champagne metallic wallpaper wraps the room in timeless style.

Outside, beyond the great room’s pocketing sliders, the covered lanai opens to a glorious pool and spa. Four contemporary curved rattan chairs are gathered around a circular cocktail table and area rug, all of which face a handsome fireplace adorned with off-white and gold mica stone work that runs from floor to ceiling. The rectangular fireplace also features a precast stone mantle with a television niche above. Adjacent the outdoor kitchen that includes espresso cabinetry and a leather-finish golden granite countertop, Gebert has selected a glass top dining table with a rattan base that makes a figure-8 design and six matching chairs. Off of the master suite she has created a cozy cigar and lounging area with four upholstered chairs.
