Vogue Completes Interior for San Michele Residence at Talis Park

Vogue Interiors announced designer Leslie Gebert, Allied Member, ASID has completed the interior design for a San Michele residence built by Harbourside Custom Homes in Talis Park’s Fairgrove neighborhood. Fairgrove’s In the Park lifestyle offers stunning golf course, water and preserve views. The “single loaded” neighborhood presents 24 south facing homes on just one side of the street. Unobstructed views to the north include a Talis Park preserve and a golf course in an adjacent community. Italian Renaissance designs honor the more traditional view of Naples’ architecture and are joined by a Spanish Eclectic style that offers a perfect complement.

The San Michele floor plan is perfectly suited to Fairgrove’s park-like ambiance. The spacious 3,693 square feet under air floor plan includes a large great room that flows into a magnificent gourmet island kitchen, a formal dining room, study, craft room, four bedrooms, five full baths plus a pool bath, an outdoor living area with a summer kitchen, fireplace, pool and spa overlooking the Talis Park Golf Club’s picturesque 12th fairway, a two-car garage and a one-car garage.

Gebert’s soft traditional design incorporates a color palette of creams and muted blues with warm taupe accents. Beautiful light fixtures in soft champagnes have been introduced throughout the home with the addition of some contemporary artwork to add flair to the traditional look. With neutral stone flooring in the main living areas, the overall effect is one of soft, light elegance.

A long hallway leads from the foyer to the great room. In this space, Gebert has integrated polished mocha-colored marble borders into the travertine flooring to mirror three rectangular coffers overhead, themselves adorned with a metallic silver leaf covering and cove lighting. A credenza with mirrored door fronts and champagne-toned edges provides the foundation for a large contemporary abstract painting in soft blues.

Three arched openings and columns in the hallway define the entry to the dining room. On the back wall, applied moldings frame mirrored panels to create a dramatic feature wall enhanced by elegant sconces. The ceiling tray is faux finished in soft taupe and champagne and illuminated with subtle cove lighting. A beautiful chandelier is suspended over a rectangular glass top table with a wooden V-shape base featuring traditional moldings. Six dining chairs upholstered in aqua velvet in a laser-cut giraffe print create harmony.

A wet bar conveniently serves both the dining room and the great room. Cream cabinets with a soft brown glaze blend perfectly with a travertine backsplash arranged in a subtle monochromatic harlequin pattern. The base cabinetry and bar are topped with beautiful Taj Mahal quartzite surfaces. Three stylish barstools with low backs provide casual seating.

The spacious great room showcases an impressive feature wall. In the center, a large television is mounted over a chic console in dark wood with capiz shell doors and large circular hardware. On either side, custom base cabinetry finished in glazed cream forms the foundation for tall custom arched structures adorned at the front with distinctive fluted moldings. Stepped back shelving within the arches allows for ornamental display. Across from the television, an oriental rug in soft aqua blues and cream provides the foundation for a comfortable seating arrangement in light neutral tones. A sofa in nubby taupe linen is decorated with pillows in aqua, taupe and cream while two complementary side chairs are finished in soft taupe velvet. In the center, a circular metallic cocktail table features a Greek key edge and a glass top. Overhead, a striking chandelier is suspended from a remarkable octagonal coffered ceiling design. Gorgeous draperies in a tailored inverted pleat frame the wide pocketing sliders and extend into the adjacent breakfast nook. Their tone on tone cream geometric pattern adds drama and elegance to the room.

A kitchen that opens to the great room features a wide island that accommodates four upholstered bar stools and is illuminated by milked glass pendant lights in a restoration hardware style. The island cabinetry is executed in a deep walnut while the perimeter cabinetry has a glazed cream finish. The countertops throughout are a soft creamy gray granite with a suggestion of blue. The same granite extends up for the wall to create a graceful backsplash.

A soft aqua tone-on-tone wallpaper adorns the walls of the adjacent breakfast nook while the draperies provide some creamy contrast. The circular glass top table seats four with traditional framed chairs. The table base in shaped like an hour glass and faux finished to match the kitchen’s perimeter cabinetry.

In the working study, a two-tone custom built-in features file drawer and glass-fronted tower storage on either side of an incorporated desk. In signature Vogue style, an applied molding, similar to a chair rail, encircles the room about 24-inches from the ceiling. Above the molding gray metallic cork wallpaper provides striking contrast with a metallic bronze grass cloth beneath. On the hand-scraped walnut floor, an oriental rug in deeper blues with taupe and cream adds gravitas while to one side a round table and two chairs provides a small conference area. Grommeted cream drapes blend beautifully with the walls while aqua blue accents complement the rug.

The color theme of blues and cream continues in the master suite where elegant furnishings showcase metallic finishes. A tall canopy bed in a champagne metallic is dressed with soft blue linens and creamy pillows. The distressed beige wood nightstands provide glamorous shimmer with antiqued mirrored drawers. A large armoire, also in the champagne metallic finish, features generous cabinet and drawer storage with mullioned glass-fronted towers on either side framing a television. A cream-framed French chair and ottoman upholstered in soft blue chenille, sheer cream draperies, and a delicate champagne chandelier add to the dreamy elegance of the bedroom.

In the master bathroom glazed cream vanity cabinetry and light creamy granite countertops blend beautifully with the neutral stone on the floors and shower walls. A free-standing tub is showcased against a backdrop of glamorous wallpaper in an intricate design of soft blues and metallics. Overhead, the chandelier matches the bedroom.

Outside, Gebert has created a welcoming living space in neutral relaxed tones set against a background of gorgeous stone flooring. At one end, the outdoor kitchen with a granite countertop is accompanied by a bistro table and chairs with an Asian feel – the perfect spot for a glass of wine while supper is grilling. The adjacent dining area features a stylish table with a cream stone top, a woven base in soft butterscotch, and medium-toned metallic legs. The set features matching chairs. At the other end of the wide lanai, a casual seating group is gathered around a stunning floor-to-ceiling corner fireplace adorned with chiseled stone. Here, a wall-mounted television provides additional entertainment. A curved contemporary sofa with a continuous cushion and multiple cream and gold pillows is paired with matching side chairs and a glass top table with a woven base.
