Vogue Interiors announced award-winning designer Sheila Corasaniti, IDS is creating the interior for Stock Custom Homes’ furnished Malibu model now under construction at 617 Hernando Drive on Marco Island. The home’s two-story, 3,629 square feet under air floor plan includes a spacious great room, huge island kitchen, a formal dining room, five bedrooms or four bedrooms plus a study, five-and-a-half baths, an upstairs loft, and a generous outdoor living area with multiple covered lanai spaces that offer comfortable gathering places. Two of the three upstairs guest bedrooms feature covered balconies overlooking the pool and outdoor living area. Construction of the Malibu model is expected to be completed in November.
Corasaniti has created an interior for the Malibu model that will reflect the easy, casual lifestyle that is Marco Island’s hallmark. She has incorporated a variety of natural elements found on the island, including shells and live-edged driftwood. The neutral color palette will feature light alabaster white backgrounds accented by various shades of blue and aquas. The flooring in the living areas will be a high-gloss alabaster white 24 x 24-inch porcelain tile.
Upon entry to the Malibu residence, visitors will be greeted in an elegant foyer showcasing the home’s grand staircase and a stunning shell chandelier measuring 60-inches high. The staircase mixes natural and modern references and features a wood-capped bannister, driftwood-toned treads and risers, and wire railings. A colorful art piece that introduces Corasaniti’s blue and aqua accent colors will be set above a live-edge driftwood console that further introduces her use of natural elements.
The foyer leads to a spacious great room with pocketing sliders that open to the outdoor living area. The room’s feature wall will present a highly modern built-in treatment with a recessed center section flanked by expanses with a glowing backlit floor to ceiling driftwood wall covering. In the center section, a captivating art piece will be set against a painted background and positioned above a floating taupe-toned media console. Furnishings will include an off-white woven sofa, a white leather chair with metal accents, and an oversized white woven chair that matches the sofa. Aqua, blue, and lime accent pillows will provide pops of color. A cross-cut stone cocktail table with metal accents will sit atop a jute area rug. A rectangular end table with a driftwood finish, an octagonally shaped end table with a geometric pattern fret work detail, and a console with a shell type surface and soft silver banding will complete the look.
Corasaniti has designed the massive island kitchen to serve as an appealing gathering area. The island will feature a light taupe base that will complement the perimeter’s alabaster cabinetry. Calcutta style porcelain countertops and a light taupe glass tile backsplash will continue the soft, engaging look. The walls will be accented with a light water blue tone. Dome-style hammered pendants with a seaside influence will combine with backless counter stools with driftwood bases and canvas seats to create a welcoming ambiance at the island. In the adjoining dining room, a glass-topped dining table with a driftwood base and a driftwood console with dimensional doors will continue Corasaniti’s easy, casual style. Host and hostess wing chairs at the head and foot of the table will be presented with two fabrics, hemp on the back and linen fronts, and driftwood legs. The driftwood side chairs will be wrapped with a spindled material and present soft green seats.
The home’s light, off-white background and flooring tones will be continued in the master bedroom that will also feature a slightly vaulted ceiling with backlighting. Abaca rope will wrap the frame of a stunning canopy bed. The bedding will all be done in off-white with hand-sewn wood bead accents. Above the bed, a hanging light fixture will feature ten shells to continue the design’s island references. Brushed linen finished nightstands and a matching dresser will complement the soft tones of the bedding. Two open weave rattan lounge chairs with off-white canvas seats and backs will feature hand-painted accent pillows in blue and aqua. The bed and sitting area’s large braided wool rugs will further soften the presentation. Off-white linen sheer curtains will reinforce the island feeling and continue the breezy window treatments found throughout the home.
The high-gloss alabaster white 24 x 24-inch porcelain tile will also continue in the master bathroom where off-white vanity cabinetry will be topped by attractive pelican white quartz counters with vessel sinks. Chevron patterned marble will be used to create an eye-catching two-foot wide vertical detail on the shower wall. A free-standing tub will complete the inviting look.
A guest bedroom on the first floor is designed to function as a bedroom or study and includes a full bath. Corasaniti has outfitted the space to serve both functions by including both a bed and a desk. The additional bedroom will be especially attractive to large families who cherish shared island getaways or to vacation and seasonal renters. Three additional guest suites with full baths, one of which serves as a second master suite, will be located upstairs. One of the upstairs bedrooms will open to a balcony on the front of the home, while the other two will open to a covered balcony and breezeway overlooking the outdoor living area. A catwalk leading from the top of the staircase to the bedrooms will overlook the foyer and great room.
A powder bath in a hallway just off the kitchen and dining room will feature a tiled vanity wall with a mirror flanked by pendant lights. The vanity cabinet will be presented in a light stainless steel with a stained glass door insert, a Carrara marble countertop, and a vessel sink.
The great room and master bedroom will both open to an outdoor living area featuring a covered lanai with a teak tongue-in-groove ceiling, an expansive pool and spa deck, brick-laid aqua-toned waterline tile in the pool and spa, a comfortable conversation area, and an outdoor kitchen. Corasaniti has included weathered desert tan cabinetry and Dekton Danae quartz countertops in her outdoor kitchen design along with a vertical elongated octagon glass tile backsplash. Furniture in the conversation area will feature slip-covered upholstery and include a concrete cocktail table. The dining table will also have a concrete look. Long breezeways will feature benches perfectly suited to relaxing while taking in the sunset or speaking with those enjoying the pool.
