Vogue Interiors announced it has completed the design and execution of the interior design for Harbourside Custom Homes’ San Michele furnished model residence at Miromar Lakes. The open, 3,693 square feet floor plan includes a spacious great room, a formal dining room, a large island kitchen and breakfast nook, four bedrooms, four baths, a study, a flex room that has been designed as the model’s second study, an outdoor living area with a covered lanai, fireplace, outdoor kitchen, and pool, and a two-car garage and a one-car garage.
Vogue Interiors’ Leslie Gebert, Allied Member, ASID, and Sheila Herrera, I.D.S., created an interior design that incorporates contemporary elements throughout the San Michele’s open floor plan while taking full advantage of the indoor/outdoor lifestyle afforded by the home’s architectural style. Off-white stone flooring in the living areas is finished with hand-scraped driftwood colored wood insets and a delicate stone border that presents the design’s white, soft bluish-grey, and taupe color palette.
A long, open foyer provides a see-through view of the San Michele’s great room, outdoor living area and pool. The wood flooring insets mimic the foyer’s three rectangular ceiling details that are finished with a taupe contrast paint overlaid with a coat of pearlized metallic paint to provide additional visual interest. Columns on the left side of the foyer’s wide gallery hallway are scored about a third of the way down from the ceiling and define the entry to the formal dining room.
Gebert and Herrera used applied molding details to frame six mirrored panels of varying sizes that line the dining room’s one continuous wall. The wall treatment works in combination with the room’s four ceiling coffers that are set in a larger square coffer to establish an elegant ambiance. Each of the ceiling coffers is up-lit and finished with a soft, blue-green textured grass cloth with gold metallic touches. A contemporary silver and metallic gold Van Teal lighting fixture is suspended over a glass-topped rectangular dining table with a dark-toned base. The dining chairs’ linen and velvet upholstery offers a slight bit of contrast. On the gallery hallway wall opposite the dining room, a large art piece provides a mix of taupes, greys, greens, and golds. A greyish green toned tall buffet next to the art piece features a metallic silver interior and houses collectibles, such as cut glass and colored glass, while still functioning as a buffet cabinet.
Gebert and Herrera decision to include a strong textural element in the great room is reflected in an upholstered linen sofa, a pair of bone-toned textural tweed side chairs, and a taupe and grey bench that sits opposite the chairs. The furnishings are grouped in front of a fireplace wall with a beautifully designed built-in treatment. The center of the wall features a recessed fireplace surrounded by graphite colored glass tile. The wall above the fireplace is finished with the same soft, blue-green textured grass cloth with gold metallic touches found in the dining room’s ceiling coffers. A television is mounted on the wall. On either side of the fireplace, Gebert has built out columns with bronzed mirrored wall sconces. Dark graphite base cabinetry and recessed areas with open shelving flank the built-out columns.
The great room flows into a spacious island kitchen with beautiful soft teal wall tones. Perimeter cabinets in white with a graphite glaze are complimented by a granite countertop and a full granite backsplash. A large counter height island features a graphite-toned base and a granite counter matching the perimeter. The formal dining room and kitchen are connected by a butler’s pantry with graphite-toned cabinetry, a granite countertop, a grey-green textured stone backsplash, two counter-height barstools, refrigerator, sink, and an icemaker. A walk-in pantry with five shelves offers plenty of storage space.
A breakfast nook adjacent to the kitchen features a mitered-glass window overlooking the San Michele’s outdoor living area and pool. Gebert and Herrera created a neutral Roman shade window treatment with a blue-green braid. The breakfast nook’s circular glass-topped table is surrounded by four upholstered chairs.
The San Michele’s great room and master bedroom open to a long rectangular covered lanai that includes a beautiful ceiling detail and a floor to ceiling tiled wall with a recessed fireplace and a large screen television. Driftwood finished furnishings and grey-green rug combine to provide a comfortable conversation area in front of the fireplace. A second, square-shaped covered lanai includes a raised bar with a dark-toned base and granite countertop, an outdoor kitchen with matching cabinetry and countertops, a sink and grill, and a dining space with a driftwood toned table and chairs. The lanai ceilings are finished with a tongue-in-groove detail.
The San Michele’s primary “his” study is located at the rear of the home and features a palette of driftwood and soft blue-green tones. Here, Gebert and Herrera have created a floor to ceiling driftwood finished built-in that is centered on the wall. The room’s brownish grey toned hand scraped wood flooring is laid on the diagonal. A floating desk and upholstered desk chair present an interesting decorative look. Draperies with a brown background and a plaid blue-green sheer overlay combine with a corner table and chair and a contemporary area rug to complete the look.
Gebert and Herrera have transformed what was originally designed as a craft room into a secondary den. They have kept the space open and light. The desk includes a beige top and walnut legs that compliment a neutral sofa with beige and white zebra print pillows. A decorative rug completes the space that is intended to serve as “her” study.
Gebert and Herrera continued their elegant design in the master suite where an inviting vestibule features an attractive ceiling detail and a niche wall with an impressive art piece. The suite includes a large walk-in closet with a custom designed closet system. The designers’ palette in the master bedroom showcases cream with punches of grey and soft teal. The bed’s tall upholstered headboard and dusk skirt is presented in an ivory contrasted by a large pillow in a grey, blue-green, and ivory floral, and Euro’s in a highly metallic blue-green fabric. While Gebert and Herrera have brought antiqued silver night stands and other reflective and metallic elements to the space, they have maintained the room’s soft, cozy feeling with a taupy, blue-green dresser and neutral satin draperies.
The San Michele’s master bath features cream-toned his and her vanities with a chocolate glaze topped by granite countertops. The vanities and a free standing tub play against the room’s neutral porcelain tile flooring and soft taupe wallpaper. A beautiful lighting fixture with crystals and a linen shade brings additional elegance to the space. The shower’s porcelain tile floors and walls are accented by a golden willow metallic glass tile.
