"It was important that the kitchen blend with the adjoining family room and not resemble a work area," says Debbie DeMaria. She achieved this goal with hand antiquated maple cabinetry and architectural detailing accented with carved moldings, lending a custom-furnishings look to the room.
"The entire home was designed to accommodate easy entertaining, and this kitchen is a natural gathering spot, so the cook isn't left out," DeMaria adds. Hand-painted exotic parrots adorn the stove hood, which makes a lovely focal point for one seated at the breakfast bar.
